The American Political Science Association Congressional (APSC) Fellowship Programmes are now open. These awards are exclusivley open to Journalists with at least five years of experience or PhD holders in the field of Politics. Winner will receive stipend and travel cost.
Award Value
Recipients will receive a stipend of $50,000, plus a small travel allowance with other many benefits.

Eligibility and Criteria
Political Science:
- Applicants must have US citizenship or permanent US residency
- A PhD in political science completed within the last 15 years or a dissertation in political science defended
- A scholarly interest in Congress and the policymaking process
- Preference is given to those without extensive Capitol Hill experience
- Applicants who would like to be considered for the optional course on Congress and Foreign Policy must also demonstrate a scholarly background in foreign policy
Journalism:
- Applicants must have US citizenship or permanent residency and hold a bachelor’s degree
- In addition, print journalists must have two to ten years of professional newspaper or magazine experience at the time of application
- Background may be in writing, reporting or editing
- Broadcast journalists must have two to ten years of professional experience in radio or television at the time of application
- Background may be in reporting, producing, directing, or writing
- In all cases, experience may be partly or fully in professional online journalism
- Preference is given to candidates with a background in political reporting but without extensive Washington experience
- Applicants who would like to be considered for the optional course on Congress and Foreign Policy must also demonstrate a professional background in foreign policy
APSA-MCICommunications:
- Candidates must have US citizenship or permanent residency
- Scholarsmust have a PhD completed within the last 15 years or will have defended a PhD
- Journalists may be print or broadcast journalists (including online journalists) and must hold a bachelor’s degree. Print journalists must have two to ten years of professional newspaper or magazine experience at the time of application
- Background may be in writing, reporting or editing. Broadcast journalists must have two to ten years of professional experience in radio or television at the time of application. Background may be in reporting, producing, directing, or writing
