Applications for the Link Foundation Energy Fellowship are now invited. Students from all nationalities are welcome to apply. This award is to support students undertaking PhD degree majoring in the energy fields. The winning candidates will receive benefits of up to US$35,000 per year for two years.
Fellowship Description
The Link Foundation is inviting students from around the world who wish to pursue a PhD degree in energy in Canadian or U.S. universities in AY 2017-2018, to apply for the Link Foundation Energy Fellowships. This is part of Link Foundation’s efforts to foster education and innovation in the area of societal production and utilization of energy.
Value and Tenure
The energy fellowship award consists of a 2-year fellowship of US$35,000 per year for 2 years (total of US$70,000), which will be used for the Fellow’s academic year and summer stipend.

The study can be taken both in the U.S. and Canada.
Eligibility and Criteria
- Eligible candidates for the Link Foundation Energy Fellowships should have been accepted into a U.S. or Canadian university, and have been working towards a PhD.
- Applications will be evaluated by a panel of experts in the energy field, who will be assessing both the candidate as well as the project. For instance, it will look at whether the project is innovative and technically sound, or if it offers potentials for significant impacts on societal energy supply and utilization.
- The panel will examine the intellectual ability and achievement of the candidate, and whether there is evidence of creativity and initiative, as well as the potential for a career that will impact energy supply and utilization.
