University of British Columbia International Scholars Program

Applications are currently invited for the University of British Columbia International Scholars Program. This program is available for outstanding international undergraduate students who wish to enroll in a degree program at the University.

The awards range in value up to the full cost of a student’s academic program and living expenses.

Scholarship Description

University of British Columbia has four prestigious need-and-merit-based awards which are available through University of British Columbia International Scholars Program. UBC offers approximately 50 scholarships each year across all four awards. You will not select which award you wish to receive when you submit your application – the team will automatically consider you for the awards that you are eligible for. There are: Karen McKellin International Leader of Tomorrow Award, Donald A. Wehrung International Student Award, International Impact Award and Vantage One Excellence Award.

Award Value

The awards range in value up to the full cost of a student’s academic program and living expenses.

Eligibility and Criteria

To be eligible for the University of British Columbia International Scholars Program:

  • You must be an international student who will be studying in Canada on a Canadian study permit.
  • You must be entering UBC from a recognized secondary school, or transferring from your first year at a post-secondary college or other university.
  • You must have graduated from high school no earlier than the month of June two years prior to the academic year you are applying to. For example, applicants for 2024 must have graduated from high school no earlier than June 2022.
  • You must be applying for your first undergraduate degree.
  • You must demonstrate superior academic achievement.

Applicants’ Nationality

International students from all nationalities are welcome to apply.

Application Instructions

To apply for the University of British Columbia International Scholars Program, you need to;

  • Decide on the academic program you want to study, and which campus you want to choose.
  • Submit your application to UBC.
  • Must be nominated by your school or non-profit, and submit a reference from an academic referee. Confirm with your school or the non-profit body
  • The proceed by completing this form to submit application for the scholarship

Submission Deadline

1 December yearly.
