American Indian Scholarships, USAThere are three different types of American Indian Scholarships on offer – the DAR American Indian Scholarship by Daughters of American Revolution (DAR); the Frances Crawford Marvin Scholarship; and the Anne Trevarthen Memorial Scholarship. All candidates must be college or university students and be able to show proof of his or her native American status. Applications are accepted yearly until the deadline by January 31, each year.

Scholarship Descriptions

Each of these American Indian Scholarships are awarded to help Native American students of any age, tribe, and in any state striving to get an education at the undergraduate or graduate levels. However, undergraduate students are given preference. All awards are judged based on financial need and academic achievement.

Award Value

  • The DAR scholarship is a one-time $4,000 award;
  • The Frances Crawford Marvin Scholarship and the Anne Trevarthen Memorial Scholarship may vary year to year based on available endowment.

In the United States of America.

Eligibility and Criteria

Applicants must be Native Americans (proof of American Indian blood is required by letter or proof papers) in financial need and have the requisite grade point average for each of the scholarships to be considered. There will be no exceptions.

Applicants Nationality

Only Native Americans may apply for these scholarships.
