Each year, the University of Waikato in New Zealand offers the Te Ara Hou Scholarship Program. Eligible candidates must be local citizens who are pursuing undergraduate degree program in any discipline at the university.
Award Value
The scholarship winner will be granted $3,000.

Eligibility and Requirements
For recent school leavers who may not have planned to attend university and/or undertake tertiary study, but whose circumstances have changed. Applicants must not have applied for or accepted an offer for any other University of Waikato scholarships, unless these are specifically for financial hardship. Student must have achieved at least NCEA Level 3 with Merit to be eligible to apply.
