The Leipzig Global Studies Joint MA and PhD Scholarships applications are now being accepted. The program is jointly organized and co-ordinated by the Global and European Studies Institute (GESI) at Leipzig University, and the Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) at Addis Ababa University tagged “Global Studies with a special emphasis on Peace and Security in Africa”.
Scholarship Description
The Leipzig Global Studies Joint MA and PhD Scholarships program seeks out students who are quick learners and distinguish themselves by displaying outstanding analytical skills and refined sensitivity towards conflictual topics. Students will be guided by professors and staff, but would venture out independently to explore new research avenues. Our students are from diverse backgrounds engaging in lively debates and approaching topics from different perspectives. They work together in groups and become cultural mediators with a high degree of mutual respect. Due to its unique composition of students, this programme provides a learning environment which emphasizes collaboration – the learning from and with each other.
The Master’s course “Global Studies – A European Perspective” is offered by a transnational Consortium of eleven universities worldwide. It is co-ordinated by the Global and European Studies Institute of the University of Leipzig. Students studying the two-years Master’s course may choose to study for one of the two years in Leipzig.
The full details on the Joint MA and PhD scholarship program for students as well as applicants who are interested to pursue the Global Studies at Leipzig are available on the official application page.
