Applications for the Heroe’s Legacy Scholarship Program are now being accepted. The scholarship is exclusively available for those who have affected seriously from military service since September 11, 2001. He or she must be current or prospective undergraduate students at an accredited U.S college or university. Up to $5,000 will be granted to the winning student. The closing date of application is February 17, 2021.

Scholarship Description
Fisher House Foundation is offering the “Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship Program”. The program honors not only those who have fallen in battle, but all who have died or have become disabled through their active military service since September 11, 2001. The program is independently administered by Scholarship Managers (SM), a non-profit scholarship service organization.

Award Value
The Legacy Heroes’ Scholarship Program will award non-renewable $5,000 competitive scholarships.

Undergraduate degree in any field of studies.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Dependent unmarried children under age 23 of active duty personnel, Reserve, Guard, retired military members, or survivors of deceased military personnel may apply for a Heroes’ Legacy Scholarship if they meet one of the following criteria: Their sponsor died while serving on active duty, on or after September 11, 2001 in any branch or component of the U. S.Armed Forces. OR Their sponsor, while serving on active duty on or after September 11, 2001 became disabled, meaning that the parent qualified for receipt of Traumatic Service members’ Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) OR Their sponsor while serving on active duty on or after September 11, 2001 received a permanent and total compensation rating of 100% from the Department of Defense or Veterans Affairs.
  • Applicants must be enrolled, or planning to enroll, in a full-time undergraduate degree program in the fall in an accredited U.S. college or university, or junior/communitycollege.
  • High school applicants must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 basis) to be eligible to apply.
  • College applicants must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 (on a 4.0 basis) to be eligible to apply.
