Applications for the Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU) Scholarship is now being accepted. The applicants from any developing countries are the target group of this scholarship. This scholarship is to support students in the Master of Science in Sustainability programme. The selected candidates will receive interesting benefits of fully funded award including two years living allowances. Application deadline is 28 February every year.
Scholarship Description
The United Nations University’s Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU) Scholarship is available for outstanding applicants from developing countries who can demonstrate a need for financial assistance, and they will be considered as candidates for the award of the scholarship.
Scholarship Value
JFUNU scholarship is a fully funded award and will cover the full tuition fees, and provides a monthly allowance of 150,000 yen for living expenses for a maximum of 24 months. Travel costs to and from Japan, visa handling fees, and health/accident insurance costs will be covered by the student.

Eligibility Criteria
The ideal candidates for the Japan Foundation for UNU (JFUNU) Scholarship award should meet all of the following conditions:
- A strong interest in sustainability studies.
- Demonstrated commitment to study and understand global issues.
- A completed bachelor’s degree
- A GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale on the bachelor’s degree earned.
- Good command in English
