Applications for the St Nicholas Scholarship Programmes are now invited. This program is only open to resident in one of the 26 administrative wards of Newcastle City Council at the point of submitting an academic application through UCAS for a place at Durham University.
Scholarship Description
In 1925 it moved to Axwell Park for open spaces and playing fields, and in 1957 became an Approved School. Axwell Park closed in 1983 and the Trust stopped providing education on site in 1995, but has been offering grants to young people to benefit their education ever since. Durham University is delighted to announce that the Trust has very generously provided funds to support students from Newcastle wishing to study at Durham University.

£2,500 stipend per year for the duration of your programme at Durham University

Undergraduate degree in any field.
Place of Study
The study will be taken in the United Kingdom.
Eligibility and Criteria
- Regularly attended a full time educational course since the age of 16 up to the date of application (exclusions due to illness may apply)
- Have a household income below £42,875 (17/18 rates) based on an assessment carried out by Student Finance England. Preference will be given to applicants with a household income below £25,000.
- Resident in one of the 26 administrative wards of Newcastle City Council at the point of submitting an academic application through UCAS for a place at Durham University.
