Wellcome Trust is currently accepting applications for a number of Masters Fellowships. Those awards are exclusively targeted to students from developing countries. He or she is expected to undertake master by research program in the field of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. The winning students will be granted fully funded award during the program’s period.
Fellowship Description
Wellcome Trust Masters Fellowships scheme strengthens scientific research capacity in low- and middle-income countries, by providing support for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Master’s degree level. Research should be aimed at understanding and improving public health and tropical medicine of local, national and global relevance. Public health and tropical medicine cover a wide range of health problems, including communicable and non-communicable diseases.
Value and Tenure
All of the related expenses will be covered with this fellowship for maximum 30 months.
Level and Area of Studies
Master by research in Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
Place of Study
The study will be taken in low- or middle-income countries (except in India)
Eligibility and Criteria
The primary requirements of this Wellcome Trust Masters Fellowships is that applicants must be a national or legal resident of a low- and middle-income country and hold a first degree in subject relevant to tropical medicine or public health (clinical or non-clinical). In addition, he or she must be at an early stage in career, with limited research experience, but have a demonstrated interest in or aptitude for research.
