Entente Cordiale Scholarships are now open to French students who will be commencing master degree in the United Kingdom. Up to 8 best applicants will be selected to receive these Entente Cordiale Scholarships. The successful applicants will receive maximum £10,000.
Scholarship Description
An Entente Cordiale scholarship can help you fund one year of full-time postgraduate study in a British university, whether at Masters level. The scheme is managed by the British Council France and the British Embassy Paris and is funded by the private sector. Our current sponsors include Areva, Rothschild & Cie, Schlumberger and Herbert Smith Freehills. The maximum amount offered for a scholarship is £10,000, which is paid directly to the scholar and can be used as a contribution to tuition fees or living expenses during your year in the UK. We try to award a range of scholarships in different disciplines, in order to preserve the unique diversity of the scheme and its alumni network. Entente Cordiale alumni work across all sectors of professional activity, from business and industry, to the arts, to research, to government, to civil society.

Eligibility and Criteria
- have French nationality OR have completed their higher education in France
- have qualifications of at least bac + 3 level at the time of their departure to the UK (bac + 4 is required for the law scholarship in partnership with Herbert Smith Freehills)
- currently reside in France
- have applied and received a conditional offer to undertake a full academic year 2019/20 studying at master’s level at a UK university in any field.
- applicants applying for legal studies (LLM) must specify this option on the application form and will only be eligible for the Herbert Smith Freehills – Entente Cordiale Scholarship Scheme. All other applications will be considered for the main scheme.

All applicants are required to provide the following documents:
– completed application form
– supporting letters from two referees
– photocopies of academic certificates and diplomas
– transcript/record of exams that you have passed
– proof of your English level
