Aspen Institute is delighted to invite applications for the Bezos Scholars Program. Only the U.S students are invited to apply. He or she must be enrolled at high school and demonstrate leadership in his or her school or community. The winning students will receive a range of benefits as mentioned below.

Scholarship Description
Every spring, 30 top high school students and exceptional educators from across the U.S. and Africa are selected to participate in this year-long leadership development program. A total of 24 U.S. high school juniors and educators will be selected to represent their 12 respective high schools.

The Bezos Scholars Program @ the Aspen Institute is a year-long leadership development program for public high school juniors and educators. It begins with a scholarship to attend the Aspen Ideas Festival and continues through the following school year when Bezos Scholar teams return home to launch sustainable, Local Ideas Festivals that transform their schools and communities.

Award Value
The winners of this Bezos Scholars Program kicks off with an all-expenses-paid scholarship to attend the acclaimed Aspen Ideas Festival (AIF), a remarkable gathering of thinkers and change agents from around the world.

Eligibility and Criteria

  • Applicant must attend Public High School (including Charter and Magnet schools)
  • At least 30 percent of students are eligible for free/reduced lunch program (this is a firm cutoff)
  • Demonstrate leadership in school and community
  • Have taken at least one of the following tests: PSAT/SAT/ACT or ACT Aspire
  • Be enrolled in or have taken one or more Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB) classes or college level courses.
  • Available to participate on all dates

Only legal U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident are invited to apply.
